OREANDA-NEWS  Russia's international reserves increased by $ 4.5 billion or 0.8 percent over the week, as of January 6, 2023, they amounted to $ 582 billion, the Central Bank said.

"International reserves as of the end of the day on January 6, 2023 amounted to 582 billion US dollars, having increased by 4.5 billion US dollars, or 0.8 percent, during the week, under the influence of a positive revaluation," the regulator said.

It is noted that as of December 30, international reserves amounted to 577.5 billion dollars. The week before, there was a decrease of 0.7 percent (4.2 billion).

International reserves are assets in foreign currency, monetary gold, special drawing rights, a reserve position in the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Earlier it became known that during trading on the Moscow Exchange on January 12, the ruble strengthened against the dollar and the euro. The dollar was trading at 67.73 rubles (minus 1.46 percent to the previous closing level), and the euro was trading at 72.76 rubles (minus 1.68 percent).
