OREANDA-NEWS The volume of subsidizing preferential mortgage programs from the Russian budget in 2025 will be increased to 2 trillion rubles from the current 1.2 trillion, which is one of the largest items of government spending, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told reporters.

"This year we will have to increase the amount of subsidizing mortgage programs to 2 trillion rubles. These are decent amounts. But nevertheless, we understand that these are people, these are accumulated obligations, these are new mortgage loans. On the one hand, this is support for demographic decisions, and on the other hand, it is support for the construction industry. Therefore, we will continue, despite all the budget pressures. We hope that the rate will decrease," Siluanov said.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Finance said that resources for subsidizing mortgage programs in Russia in 2025 are provided in the budget in the amount of more than 1.2 trillion rubles.
