OREANDA-NEWS  Over 2.3 thousand children have been cured of hepatitis C by the Circle of Goodness Foundation since its foundation, said Archpriest Alexander Tkachenko, head of the foundation, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Another achievement that I would like to talk about is the fight against hepatitis C. The foundation supplies medicines for his treatment. Medicines have almost one hundred percent effectiveness. And over the past period, we have cured 2,370 children of this stigmatizing disease. That's such a wonderful effect," Tkachenko said.

The Circle of Goodness Foundation was established by presidential decree to support children with severe life-threatening and chronic diseases, including orphan diseases.

Its purpose is to implement an additional mechanism for organizing and financially supporting the provision of expensive medical care to Russian children, providing them with medicines and medical products, including those not registered in the Russian Federation, as well as technical rehabilitation equipment not included in the federal list of rehabilitation measures, technical rehabilitation equipment and services.
