OREANDA-NEWS  The head of the European Council said that currently the EU has several options on how to deal with Russia's frozen assets. Charles Michel recalled that the amount of assets of the Russian Federation reaches 300 billion dollars.

"Now we have Russian assets worth 300 billion euros… I was in favor of doing something with them in accordance with legal principles. We have several options," Michel clarified in an interview with the Spanish edition of Mundo, without voicing these options. He also added that frozen Russian assets and the possibility of their confiscation and use to pay for the restoration of Ukraine are "a key issue."

Earlier it became known that the European Union froze Russian assets totaling 68 billion euros, most of which are located in Belgium. This was reported by Politico with reference to the document of the European Commission.
