OREANDA-NEWS The Interior Ministry has opened a criminal case against three Moscow entrepreneurs suspected of embezzling 80 million rubles allocated from the budget for the purchase of equipment and furniture for kindergartens in Nizhny Novgorod.
The detainees are charged with especially large-scale fraud. In December 2021, they won the tender and signed a contract with the Nizhny Novgorod administration, under the terms of which they pledged to supply equipment and furniture to nine preschool institutions. After receiving a full prepayment, the suppliers equipped only one kindergarten, five received part of what they needed, and three were left without anything. During the inspection, the police found out that the merchants had not purchased the necessary items under the contract, and the allocated funds had been stolen.
They were charged, and one of them reimbursed one million rubles in damages.
On March 7, it was reported that in the Republic of Bashkortostan, police detained a Russian woman suspected of fraud against residents of the republic for 300 million rubles.
