OREANDA-NEWS  The St. Petersburg Federal Antimonopoly Service revealed a violation of the law in the advertising of biologically active additives (dietary supplements), which was distributed by Yandex. The company faces a fine under Article 14.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, the press service of the department reported on August 21.

The fact that two administrative cases were initiated against the company on violation of the law "On Advertising", the Federal Antimonopoly Service announced at the end of July. According to the law, the advertising of dietary supplements must be accompanied by a warning that the object of advertising is not a medicinal product. Meanwhile, there was no such warning in the advertising distributed by Yandex. As a result, the advertisement was deemed inappropriate, and the company was issued an order. For violating the law, Yandex faces a fine of 200 to 500 thousand rubles.

As Kommersant wrote earlier with reference to the press service of the department, statements about improper advertising of dietary supplements were received by the Federal Antimonopoly Service from "ordinary citizens". The complaints, according to the publication, featured the company "Edifarm", the founder of which is Eduard Zahrabekov and his pharmaceutical holding "BSS". The second advertiser is Pharma—Print LLC, co-founded by Irina Filippova, head of the Fungotherapy Centers in Moscow and St. Petersburg. In each identified case, the advertising distributor is Yandex.
