OREANDA-NEWS Russian tennis players Mirra Andreeva and Andrey Rublev have reached the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles of the US Open. The results are available on the tournament website.

The athletes defeated the current US Open mixed doubles champions, the Italian duo Sarom Errani and Andrea Vavassori. The meeting ended with a score 1:4, 4:1 (11:9).

In the quarterfinals, the Russians will play the winner of the pair Diana Schneider (Russia) and Kasper Ruud (Norway) and Jessica Pegula / Taylor Fritz (both from the USA).

The 28-year-old Rublev is ranked 24th in the world; he has 18 ATP singles titles and four doubles titles to his credit. The 19-year-old Andreeva holds fifth place in the WTA singles rankings; she has six titles, including a victory at Roland Garros this year, as well as three doubles titles. In 2024, together with Schneider, she became the Olympic silver medalist.

The mixed doubles competition at the US Open started earlier than the main draw and will end on August 26.
