OREANDA-NEWS "Bayer Leverkusen" does not intend to settle for signing a preliminary contract with "Zenit" forward Serdar Azmun and wants to buy the Iranian from the St. Petersburg club ahead of time, says "Sport1" journalist Patrick Berger.

The insider reported that "Bayer" is ready to pay "Zenit" from 2 to 3 million euros to pick up the Iranian striker in the winter, without waiting for the expiration of his contract with the Blue-White-Blues. Berger clarifies that the fate of the deal largely depends on whether striker Lucas Alario, who has offers from a number of clubs, will leave the Pharmacists.

On January 24, it became known why the French "Lyon" refused to buy the striker Azmun. This was due to the player's high salary requirements.

On the same day, ZenitCafe announced that Serdar Azmun would be fined by Zenit for violating medical and information protocols as a result of the player's departure from the St. Petersburg club without warning, although the striker passed a positive test for coronavirus.

Azmun signed a contract with Bayer on January 22. The player has played for Zenit since 2019 and was one of the leading players in the team. As a member of the St. Petersburg club, Azmun became the champion of Russia three times.
