OREANDA-NEWS  Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic withdrew from the Australian Open 2025 semi-final match against German Alexander Zverev due to injury.

The player decided not to continue fighting after losing the first set in a tiebreak. "If I had won the first set, maybe I would have tried to play a few more games, I don't know. It was getting worse and worse. It's a muscle tear," Djokovic said, quoted by Championship after the match.

World number two Zverev reached the final of the Australian Open for the first time in his career. Djokovic, who ranks seventh in the ranking of the Association of Professional Tennis Players, has won the tournament 10 times.

In the final, Zverev will play the winner of the match between Italian Yannick Sinner and American Ben Shelton. They will play the game later on Friday, January 24th.
