OREANDA-NEWS. Formula 1 announced on its official website the cancellation of races in Azerbaijan, Singapore and Japan. The leadership and the promoters of the stage have decided that the three races will not take place in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Races in Baku and Singapore were canceled due to difficulties in preparing city routes because of the epidemiological situation. In Japan, they refused to hold the race because to tourist restrictions.

Thus, the number of races canceled due to the pandemic during the season has reached seven. Previously, the organizers of Formula 1 decided not to hold the races in Australia, Monaco, France and the Netherlands. Now, none of the three planned city races (Baku, Singapore, Monaco) are left in the calendar of the season.

The start of the season of 2020 is scheduled for July 5. The first and second race of the tournament will be held in Austria. The calendar also includes two races in Great Britain, one race in Hungary, Spain, Belgium, and Italy. The decision on the next races will be made by management later.
