OREANDA-NEWS  The International Skating Union (ISU) has allowed Russian and Belarusian figure skaters to participate in tournaments under its auspices in a neutral status. This is reported on the organization's website.

The decision comes into force from the beginning of the 2026/2027 season. Russians and Belarusians can now take part in competitions without national symbols and anthems. The same restrictions will apply to the coaching staff and technical staff.

The International Skating Union (ISU) has suspended Russian figure skaters from international competitions in the spring of 2022.

Only two representatives of the country, Peter Gumennik and Adelia Petrosyan, competed at the 2026 Olympics in Italy in a neutral status. Russians and Belarusians were not allowed to participate in other ISU tournaments.
