OREANDA-NEWS  The first racket of Russia Daria Kasatkina lost to Ukrainian Elina Svitolina in the second round match of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tournament in Washington.

The match ended with a score of 6:2, 6:2 in favor of the Ukrainian tennis player, who does not have a seeding number. Kasatkina was seeded at number five. In the quarterfinals, Svitolina will play with the winner of the match between American Jessica Pegula and Peyton Stearns.

Kasatkina is 26 years old, she ranks 11th in the WTA ranking - the highest among Russians. The athlete is the owner of six titles under the auspices of the organization. As a member of the Russian national team, Kasatkina won the Billie Jean King Cup in 2021.

Svitolina is 28 years old, she is 27th in the WTA ranking. The Ukrainian woman has 17 titles under the auspices of the organization.
