OREANDA-NEWS  Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov has withdrawn from the Australian Open-2023. 

In the semifinal match Khachanov lost to the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas. The match ended in four sets with the score 6:7 (2:7), 4:6, 7:6 (8:6), 3:6. The athletes spent 3 hours and 21 minutes on the court.

Khachanov was the last representative of Russia at the Australian Open. Earlier, Andrey Rublev left the tournament in the quarterfinals. In the meeting for the right to play in the 1/2 finals, he lost to Serbian Novak Djokovic.

Russians compete at tournaments of the Association of Professional Tennis Players and the Women's Tennis Association, including the Australian Open, in a neutral status. Athletes are deprived of the flag and anthem.
