OREANDA-NEWS Russian tennis players Andrey Rublev and Mirra Andreeva were defeated in the semi-finals of the mixed doubles at the 2026 US Open. 

The Russians lost to the representatives of the Czech Republic, Karolina Mukhova and Jakub Menshik. The meeting took place on the night of Thursday, August 27, and ended with a score 4:5 (6:8), 5:3, 9:11.

The duration of the game was 1 hour and 23 minutes. In the third game, the Russians missed two matchballs.

In the final, Mukhova and Menshik will face Swiss Belinda Bencic and Italian Flavio Kobolli. In the semifinals, this duo beat Ukrainian Elina Svitolina and Frenchman Gael Monfils.

Earlier, former world number one Evgeny Kafelnikov said that there is a huge decline in Russian tennis. He noted that Russian tennis players have talent and potential, but there are reasons why they cannot play at the highest level for a long time.
