OREANDA-NEWS. According to the press service of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, on Thursday a long-waited decision on the case of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) will be publicly announced. It is noted that the decision will be proclaimed at 18:00 Moscow time. CAS hearings in the WADA and RUSADA cases were held from November 2 to 5.

On December 9, 2019, the WADA executive committee deprived RUSADA of compliance status. The reason for this dismissal was the conclusions of the WADA investigators, who, according to them, recorded the facts of manipulations with the database of the Moscow laboratory. This laborotory contains the results of testing Russian athletes for the period from 2012 to 2015. Careful preserving the identity of the database was one of the conditions for RUSADA's restoration in 2018.

RUSADA at the end of last year did not agree with the decision of the WADA executive committee, that is why the case was transferred to CAS to be heard. If sports arbitration agrees with WADA, Russian sports will have severe sanctions: Russian athletes will lose the right to compete at the Olympic and Paralympic Games and world championships under the national flag for the period of four years, and the country will not be able to receive major international tournaments.
