OREANDA-NEWS. Russian MMA fighter Vyacheslav Borshchev received a contract with the UFC after a victorious fight at the Dana White's Contender Series tournament. Dana White, the president of the promotion, announced the conclusion of a contract with the Russian.

The Russian won an early knockout victory over the Scotsman Chris Duncan. The fight ended in the second round after Borshchev delivered an accurate left side kick. The head of the UFC, Dane White, really liked this fight. "It was one of the best first rounds in MMA that you've ever seen," White wrote on Instagram.

Following the results of the Dana White's Contender Series tournament, Borshchev became one of the fighters who were offered contracts with the UFC. Dana White's Contender Series is a selection in the UFC. Tournaments are held every week in the fall. There are 4-5 fights on the card. At the end of each tournament, White determines the fighters who will be offered a contract with the UFC. Just winning is not enough. For example, recently the Russian heavyweight Rizvan Kuniev won his fight ahead of schedule, but he was not given a contract with the UFC.

The 29-year-old Borshchev has five wins and one loss in MMA. Duncan has seven wins and one loss in MMA.

Borshchev is a world champion in kickboxing, a master of sports of international class, a multiple winner of Russian and international K-1 competitions. Since 2017, he has been training in Sacramento (USA, California) in the team "Team AlphaMale".
