OREANDA-NEWS Tatyana Kiriyenko, Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation (FBI), commented on the information that the USA Boxing Association will allow transgender people to participate in women's competitions from 2024.

"Allowing such a thing is a crime against boxing. We support traditional values and will not allow such manifestations at our boxing events. We also see that the boxing community strongly opposes such, if I may say so, innovations. The International Boxing Association (IBA), headed by Umar Kremlev, conducts hormone testing at the world Championships, thus depriving it of the opportunity to dishonestly achieve results.

We operate in the same paradigm of values. By the way, the mentioned American federation is not a member of the IBA. But this does not mean that the boxing community and the athletes themselves will allow them to denigrate the long—standing traditions of our favorite sport," Kiriyenko said for TASS.

To participate in women's tournaments, transgender people from the United States will need to declare their new identity, undergo sex reassignment surgery and undergo quarterly hormone testing and provide data to USA Boxing.
