OREANDA-NEWS The increase in fuel prices last summer has led to the initiation of 50 antimonopoly cases to date. Gennady Shops, Deputy head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), told about this on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2026), RIA Novosti reports.

He stressed that the agency monitors prices every day, monitors the availability of fuel and checks the "distribution chain."

Earlier this week, during a meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak instructed the Ministry of Energy and the Federal Antimonopoly Service to strengthen price control at independent gas stations and identify potential risks. The meeting participants paid special attention to the implementation of fuel supply agreements between regional operators and large networks of independent gas stations.

Prior to that, the Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service for the Moscow Region initiated a case on the fact of overcharging and receiving unjustified income against Eurotrans, the owner of a large network of Trassa gas stations. At the same time, the company has already committed several technical and full-fledged defaults, as it is no longer able to service its debts.
