OREANDA-NEWS  A local accumulation of petroleum products was found on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the Leningrad Region State Environmental Supervision Committee.

The accumulation was recorded near the village of Logi. As stated in the committee, this place is located at a distance from the territory of the Sosnovoborsky city district.

They added that measures are being taken to contain and eliminate pollution. It is localized and does not pose a danger to nearby territories.

In early April, there were reports that, against the background of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on oil loading ports in the Leningrad region, local pollution allegedly occurred in one of the locations in the Lipovo area in Sosnovy Bor. Information about the oil spill in the Gulf of Finland from the oil loading terminals in Ust-Luga was not confirmed at that time, the State Environmental Supervision Committee noted.
