OREANDA-NEWS  In Russia, they proposed to introduce a self-ban on large purchases on the Internet. This initiative was made by deputy Amir Khamitov, quoted by TASS.

According to the deputy, the self-ban on making loans has proved to be an effective tool for preventing financial risks, so a similar measure can be extended to other segments.

"Self-locking should remain a voluntary tool for citizen's self-defense, and not turn into excessive regulation. The main task of the state is to give people a convenient mechanism to control risks, and not to restrict their freedom of choice," Khamitov explained.

According to the United Credit Bureau (OKB), during the May holidays, Russians submitted a total of 232,000 applications in order to establish a self-lock on loans. The number of such applications at the beginning of the last spring month turned out to be higher than during the January holidays. At the beginning of the year, Russians submitted 224,000 such requests to financial institutions.
