OREANDA-NEWS On the morning of September 8, a moose was spotted on the streets in the Eastern District of Moscow, REN TV reports.

The moose ran in the area of Shchelkovsky highway, Montazhnaya and Pervomaiskaya streets. Later, the Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection of the city reported that the animal was taken to the territory of the Troitsk and Novomoskovsky administrative districts and released into the forest.

"Now the moose season begins — it lasts from the end of August to the beginning of October, and the peak of activity falls in the middle of September. During this period, moose become unpredictable, so they can go out to people and into public places," the animal's activity was explained there.

The Department also said that when meeting with a moose, it is important not to approach the animal and not provoke it. You need to keep your distance and not make sudden movements, not try to get closer or attract the attention of an animal, and drivers should slow down at night, especially in areas with warning signs about the possible appearance of wild animals. If an injured or weakened moose is seen, it is necessary to report it to the unified information service of the Moscow government.

Earlier, Muscovites had already been warned about aggressive moose, as they can show aggression during the mating season.
