OREANDA-NEWS. The head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Oleksiy Reznikov, announced on Wednesday the arrival of a new batch of military-technical assistance to Kiev from the UK.
"On February 8-9, a cargo with military-technical assistance arrived in Ukraine from the UK - military goods and equipment for the territorial defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: bulletproof vests, helmets, etc. Thanks to our partners for their unwavering political and diplomatic support and military assistance," he wrote. Reznikov on Twitter.
In January 2022, the UK delivered several thousand light anti-tank missiles to Ukraine.
Earlier it was said, that foreign mercenaries from the United States, Great Britain, Poland and Canada have begun to arrive in the DPR, which is a cause for concern, said Eduard Basurin, deputy head of the People's Militia Department of the DPR.
“If we talk about (foreign) military instructors, as far as I know, they have a ban on being on the line of contact, but in reality they exist here ... But it’s not instructors that bother me more, but mercenaries, who have begun to appear here in increasing numbers. This will be worse," he said on the air of "Russia 24".
Basurin added that among the foreign mercenaries there are citizens of the United States, Great Britain, Poland and Canada.
“The last ones we talked about were the Poles ... two groups of 20 people, they weren’t even shy in principle, they spoke their native language, Polish. There are also Canadians here, there are British, Americans, yes, in principle, Europeans ", he noted.
"The main private companies that send mercenaries here are British and American," he stressed.
Basurin added that one can judge the presence of foreign military personnel by the reports of foreign journalists: it is clear from the bearing and uniform of the military that these are not representatives of the Ukrainian army.
