OREANDA-NEWS   The structure of labor flows from Central Asia is changing, as migrant workers from the region are increasingly moving to the European Union rather than Russia. This was stated by Lyubov Bisson, senior researcher at the European Integration Research Department of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, RIA Novosti reports.

According to her, the Russian direction is still a priority, but now it is not as obvious as it was five years ago.

At the same time, Europe is actively interested in the Central Asian labor force, this interest is observed on both sides. Poland, Lithuania, Romania and Bulgaria are the most frequent migrants from there. However, they often move to Western Europe after gaining experience in these countries, where they can expect to earn more income.

Earlier, Orenburg Mayor Albert Yumadilov explained that the arrival of 70 workers from Senegal to clean the streets was necessary due to the inability to find employees among Russians. Africans, the mayor pointed out, are ready to work six days a week for a small salary.

Business representatives confirm that migrants from non-CIS countries are more accessible than representatives of Central Asian countries. The latter have salary requirements one and a half to two times higher, so the recruitment services are looking towards India, Vietnam, the Philippines or Kenya.
