OREANDA-NEWS German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will pay a visit to Ukraine on February 14. It is planned that he will meet with the country's president Vladimir Zelensky in Kiev. This was reported in the press service of the German Chancellor.

Before the talks, German Chancellor Scholz will lay wreaths at the grave of the Unknown Soldier and the monument of the "Heavenly Hundred".

"The focus of the joint conversation will be bilateral relations, international issues and the current security situation," the message says.

After the conversation, a joint press conference of German Chancellor Scholz and President Zelensky is scheduled.
"The visit of the German Federal Chancellor to our state demonstrates Euro-Atlantic unity and support for Ukraine during security challenges for the whole of Europe," the administration of the Ukrainian leader stressed.

The next day, February 15, in Moscow, Scholz intends to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, "Reuters" reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz intends to "better understand Russia's concerns and goals" at talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. At the same time, it was noted that Germany does not expect concrete results from these negotiations.

Also earlier, political analyst Alexander Lazarev said on the "NASH" TV channel that US President Joe Biden is ready to "give" Ukraine to Russia so that Moscow stops getting closer to China. According to the expert, the Americans no longer need Kiev because of the change in foreign policy guidelines. If earlier Washington used the strategy of Zbigniew Brzezinski to contain Russia as a continental power, now the White House is set to fight China, Lazarev believes.
