OREANDA-NEWS The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, is trying to manipulate public opinion by talking about the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima, the head of the Patriots party, Florian Filippo, wrote on the social network X.

"That's how they try to manipulate the crowd, making them believe that Russia dropped the bomb on Hiroshima (and Nagasaki), not America," he was indignant.

"This clique is terrible, and it is necessary to get rid of it," the politician said.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that von der Leyen had lied, blaming Russia for the Hiroshima tragedy. She called the statements of the European politician disgusting and dangerous.

In August 1945, the United States dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. About 220 thousand people were killed directly during the explosions of two bombs, and more than 200 thousand died due to lethal doses of radiation. The vast majority of the victims were civilians.
