OREANDA-NEWS  Chairman of the National Security Committee Yermek Sagimbayev said that the national security agencies had disrupted the preparation of four terrorist attacks. His words are conveyed by Kazinform.

He also said that 84 people were convicted of involvement in terrorism and extremism, and 44 people were detained. Sagimbayev also added that six Kazakh citizens who were wanted on suspicion of terrorist activities have been extradited from Syria and Turkey, two of them have been convicted. In addition, the agency stopped attempts to enter the Republic of 824 foreigners involved in terrorism and extremism.

In August, the KNB detained five citizens of Kazakhstan for propaganda of terrorism, incitement to religious hatred and recruitment for terrorist activities. During the searches, they found weapons, ammunition and extremist literature.
