OREANDA-NEWS The Ministry of Construction is thinking about primary real estate insurance. Ilya Ponomarev, head of the Public Control Commission of the Public Council under the department, spoke about the need to introduce such a tool on the air of the Rossiya 1 channel.

According to the official, this will help resolve disputes between shareholders and developers over the quality of the finish. A similar practice is quite successful abroad: by signing a contract with an insurance company, the buyer frees himself from litigation with the developer due to the quality of construction and repair work. "In apartment buildings, I think it is necessary to charge insurance, especially if these are not one–day firms, but the top five insurance companies. They will not insure marriage dealers. For them, these are both monetary and reputational risks," Ponomarev explained.

Earlier, the Ministry of Construction proposed to tighten the rules for the acceptance of apartments in new buildings. They want to oblige receptionists to receive specialized education. The measure, according to officials, will help eradicate the problem of consumer extremism.
