OREANDA-NEWS In Russia in 2023, more non-stationary gas stations began to appear, the head of Rosstandart Anton Shalaev told Interfax, explaining that they are "in principle outside the law."

According to him, the department intends to return mobile gas stations to the legal field and "eliminate this problem as much as possible." The official also drew attention to the impossibility of being responsible for the quality of "surrogate fuel", noting at the same time the positive dynamics in the detection of counterfeit.

The number of such shadow objects across the country may exceed one and a half thousand. Gazelles and buses are being converted to mobile gas stations in Russian regions, and non-stationary gas stations often operate on private plots. The equipment of illegal immigrants is not certified, the work is carried out in violation of technical regulations, the accuracy of fuel supply, fire safety standards and environmental requirements. In addition, there are security issues.

"By itself, a mobile gas station is nothing terrible if the rules for the transportation of dangerous goods are observed. Sooner or later, such amateur activity, of course, will end in tragedy. Cars with up to a ton of fuel in them are similar to a private car. There are no identification marks on it at all that this is a mobile gas station," he quoted earlier BFM.ru comment by auto expert Peter Shkumatov.
