OREANDA-NEWS  The Ministry of Finance plans to attract about 700 thousand developers to the IT industry by 2030. This was stated by the head of the Ministry Maksut Shadaev, RIA Novosti reports.

In addition, the department plans to focus on those disciplines that will give us the opportunity to reproduce the most popular modern solutions — artificial intelligence and robotics.

Shadaev also said that over the past four years, the number of IT specialists in Russia has increased by 50 percent and reached 850 thousand people. Over the past eight months, 100,000 new employees have joined the industry. In addition, about 600 thousand students are currently studying in IT fields.

The average salary in this area is 185 thousand rubles, which, according to the minister, indicates a shortage of personnel, as the gap between the average salary in the economy and in the IT industry is getting bigger.

Earlier, representatives of the Federal Tax Service reported that most of the self-employed in Russia are involved in the field of repair work. According to the ministry, a total of more than 807 thousand such citizens work in this field. The automotive industry (700 thousand people) and the IT sector (496 thousand) also entered the top 3 most in-demand specialties for the self-employed in the Russian Federation.
