OREANDA-NEWS   The construction of a 375-kilometer fiber-optic communication line from Tilichik to Manila is being completed in Kamchatka, and work is seriously ahead of schedule, the government of the Kamchatka Territory reported.

"We are ahead of schedule: perhaps no other region of the Far East in recent years has been building a nuclear power plant at such a pace," the governor's press service quoted Vladimir Solodov as saying.

It is reported that the project was initiated by the governor and supported by President Vladimir Putin.
In total, according to the authorities, more than 1,500 kilometers of fiber have been laid in the north of the region. The final section was built in 2026 - it combined Khailino, Talovka, Kamenskoye and Manila into a single network. The line is currently running in the commissioning mode.

According to the government, intra-village networks have already been installed in Khailino and Talovka, while construction continues in Kamenskoye and Manila. The level of accessibility of the service is consistently high - at least 90%. Before the onset of cold weather, they plan to bring the Internet to residential buildings and switch the base stations of cellular operators to LTE mode.
It is noted that for residents it is a reliable connection, access to public services and distance learning.
