OREANDA-NEWS President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko plans to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Wednesday to discuss and resolve the existing problems. This was reported by the BelTA news agency.

"As the government reports to me, well, there are almost no problems [in relations with the Russian Federation]. I don't believe much in it. I can see from the situation that there are still problems, some inconsistencies. Sometimes there is bureaucracy," Lukashenko said on Monday at a meeting with the republic's ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoy. - Who is to blame for this? So that, meeting the day after tomorrow in Moscow, Russian President Putin and I could discuss and resolve those problems that should not be in our relations at all."

The Head of State noted that he regularly meets with the Russian leader. "But it's not to look at each other. Although this is also important - the moods of presidents are always important. But nevertheless, we tried to help the governments to untie some knots, including you," the president said.

According to him, the basis of relations is the economy. "Without this, there can be no relationship. I know the figures, I know that the trade turnover has increased, and we have finally reached a positive balance. That is, the trade is balanced. I am interested in dynamics, trends," Lukashenko continued. - You perfectly remember  what was the situation in trade with Russia. We always ran into some barriers, obstacles, and so on. In this regard, what has changed? It's clear what has changed, but you know better with a fresh eye, being in this cauldron."
