Lukashenko leads in the presidential elections in Belarus with 86.82% of the vote

OREANDA-NEWS The current head of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, according to preliminary information, won the next presidential election with a result of 86.82%, the Central Election Commission of the republic reported on Monday.
"Preliminary information on the number of votes cast for each candidate for president of the Republic of Belarus: Oleg Sergeevich Gaidukevich - 2.02%, Anna Anatolyevna Kanopatskaya - 1.86%, Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko - 86.82%, Sergey Alexandrovich Syrankov - 3.21%, Alexander Nikolaevich Khizhnyak - 1.74%, against all - 3.60%," - The CEC was informed.
The final turnout in the last presidential election was 85.7%, according to the CEC. The elections are considered to have taken place with the participation of more than half of the registered voters. The President is considered elected if more than half of those who took part in the voting voted for him.
Five people competed for the presidency. In addition to Lukashenko, who has held the highest state post since 1994, these are Oleg Gaidukevich (MP, chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party), Alexander Khizhnyak (chairman of the Republican Party of Labor and Justice), Anna Kanopatskaya (ex-MP, presidential candidate in the 2020 elections), Sergey Syrankov (first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus).
The final election results will be announced by the CEC within 10 days - no later than February 5.
