OREANDA-NEWS  The main operating and subsidiary company of the Russian retailer PJSC Magnit, JSC Tander, will produce contraceptives. According to Vedomosti, condoms under the Iron Bolt brand will be sold at Magnit Pharmacy as early as September.

Experts interviewed by the publication's journalists estimated the initial investment in launching a new brand of condoms at several tens of millions of rubles.

It is specified that the company has submitted an application to Rospatent for registration of a trademark of the same name, and the products themselves, whose range will include five items, will be presented in the middle price segment. Mikhail Burmistrov, CEO of Infoline Analytics, considered this choice justified, noting that Iron Bolt should cost slightly less than products from market leaders such as Durex and Contex, but not too cheap so as not to scare off buyers.

In the spring of this year, it was reported that condoms in Russia had risen significantly in price, doubling overall inflation amid rising costs due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
