OREANDA-NEWS NATO has promised to give a decisive response to Russia after the incident with the Russian MiG-31 aircraft that allegedly violated Estonian airspace. The official statement is published on the alliance's website.
"NATO's response to Russia's reckless actions will continue to be decisive. Russia should have no doubt: NATO and its allies will use, in accordance with international law, all necessary military and non—military tools for self-defense and deterrence of any threats from all directions," the text says.
The statement also emphasizes that the countries of the alliance do not intend to abandon their obligations to support Ukraine.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that on September 19, three MiG-31 fighters actually made a scheduled flight from Karelia to an airfield in the Kaliningrad region. The ministry stressed that the flight was carried out as planned, the planes did not deviate from the course and did not violate the airspace of other countries.
