Ilya Averbukh, vice-champion of the Olympic Games in ice dancing, announced on January 10 that the athlete was in intensive care. Later it became known that the skater was in serious condition, doctors put him into a medically induced coma and connected him to an artificial oxygen saturation device (ECMO), but on January 24, the need for this disappeared. According to media reports, the figure skater had sepsis in his lungs and had problems with blood circulation.
