H. Nemyria Met Minister of Migration and European Affairs of Finland
OREANDA-NEWS. On September 04, 2008 Vice Prime Minister for European and International Integration Hryhoriy Nemyria held a meeting with Minister of Migration and European Affairs of Finland Astrid Thors.
In the course of the meeting the parties have exchanged with views concerning inner political situation in Ukraine, the issues of bipartite cooperation between Ukraine and Finland, Ukraine-EU relations on the eve of the EU-Ukraine Summit slated for September 9 of the current year in Evian, France.
In particular, the interlocutors mooted the progress in negotiations into a new intensified agreement between Ukraine and the EU, results of implementation of an Agreement on the facilitation of the issuance of visas over the eight months of its action, practical aspects of interaction of the two states in energy, trade and economic, humanitarian and other areas.
Hryhoriy Nemyria briefed his partner on a recently approved Govt’s decision to create a Coordination Bureau of European and Euro-Atlantic integration – a structure which has to ensure horizontal coordination and, notably, to advance a more effective implementation of decisions of Ukrainian parts of Ukraine-EU joint institutions.
From her side Ms Minister expressed readiness of the Finnish side to facilitate Ukraine in the Eurointegration domain, particularly, in the issues tied to the establishment of Coordination Bureau of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Reference. Over first half of 2008 trade turnover with goods and services between Ukraine and Finland has amounted 385.31 USD which is by 37% up from a respective period of 2007.
