OREANDA-NEWS Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko called the use of nuclear weapons unacceptable. He said this in an interview with the Associated Press news agency, answering a journalist's question about the hypothetical possibility of using nuclear weapons if military operations in Ukraine are excessively prolonged.

«I absolutely believe that the use of nuclear weapons is unacceptable, also because it is next to us. Not quite here, but not across the ocean, like the United States», Lukashenko stressed. According to the Belarusian leader, such a development of events is unacceptable in principle. Otherwise, according to him, «our globe can be torn from orbit and we will fly away to no one knows where».

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said on April 15 that weapons of mass destruction could be used against Ukraine. The Ukrainian leader noted that it can be both tactical nuclear weapons and chemical munitions.

In response to this accusation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Zelensky makes his statements depending on what «he drank or smoked». He stressed that it is not worth taking the statements of the head of the Ukrainian state seriously, because he is constantly changing his point of view.
