Putin congratulates Russians on National Unity Day

OREANDA-NEWS Vladimir Putin congratulated the Russians on National Unity Day.
"We have a big country. I would like to repeat once again that our strength, great competitive advantage and potential lies in this diversity of cultures, traditions and customs. We must constantly strengthen it, protect multinational harmony, our common heritage," the president said at the plenary session of the Peoples of Russia week.
He stressed that Russia has historically developed through the interaction of peoples, languages and customs.
"We have not just come together over the centuries and epochs, it is no exaggeration to say that our culture, we have simply grown into each other," Putin said.
According to him, the unity of peoples plays a key role in the country, therefore, special attention has always been paid to interethnic relations in Russia. The Head of State called for suppressing any attempts to incite ethnic hatred.
"Life does not stand still, new, often extremely dangerous challenges are emerging. We must be vigilant and stop any attempts to undermine social stability," he added.
