OREANDA-NEWS The talks in Abu Dhabi on Ukraine will focus on guarantees of the parties' security, the details will be discussed behind closed doors, Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"It will be devoted to security issues, ensuring security, guaranteeing the security of the parties, the details, of course, will all be discussed behind closed doors," Peskov said, answering RIA Novosti's question whether Russia would prepare new proposals for negotiations.
The next round of trilateral talks between Russia, the United States and Ukraine is scheduled for November 10-11 in Abu Dhabi. Special Envoy of the American President Steve Witkoff said that the parties intend to discuss security guarantees, de-escalation, humanitarian issues and further steps towards a peaceful settlement. The Kremlin confirmed the participation of the Russian delegation in the negotiations. It will be headed by Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation.
Moscow has repeatedly stated its readiness for a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, provided that its root causes are eliminated and Russia's security interests are taken into account. The Russian authorities emphasize the need to achieve long-term and sustainable peace, rather than a temporary cessation of hostilities without resolving the main contradictions.
