OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone with the head of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, the Kremlin's press service reports.

"A number of practical aspects of further development of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, including in trade, economic, financial and humanitarian fields, were discussed," the message reads.

In the context of Russia's chairmanship in the EAEU and Kyrgyzstan in the CIS, Putin and Zhaparov touched upon "some issues of interaction within the framework of integration associations in the Eurasian space."

The two leaders confirmed their mutual intention to further strengthen the allied relations between the countries. Putin and Zhaparov also agreed to continue personal contacts. The last time the two presidents met was at an informal summit of CIS leaders in St. Petersburg at the end of December last year.
