OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law on social support measures for certain categories of citizens in the new regions of the Russian Federation, as well as on the subsistence minimum in these subjects.

The relevant document is published on the official Internet portal of legal information. In particular, in order to transition to the social protection system of the Russian Federation, which provides for the provision of certain measures of social support in monetary form, the law establishes the right of preferential categories of citizens to a monthly cash payment (EDV) and a set of social services from March 1, 2023. In particular, the document provides for maintaining the volume of social support measures for persons recognized as victims of political repression and rehabilitated persons.

Payments to veterans and participants of the Great Patriotic War will be provided from the budget, and military personnel, some categories of citizens assigned to combat areas by the law of Ukraine, will receive support measures established by regional legislation.

In addition, recognition as a disabled person will be carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation from March 1, 2023.

In order to preserve the social protection measures established by the legislation of Ukraine for citizens affected by radiation exposure who lived at the time of determining the status of new subjects, the document proposes to extend to them the social support measures established by the legislation of the Russian Federation for similar categories of citizens.

In addition, the law establishes that documents in connection with the establishment of disability issued in new regions before March 1, 2023, which do not specify the validity period, are recognized as valid until January 1, 2026.
