OREANDA-NEWS. The head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, announced the readiness of the state corporation to take control of foreign companies that are close in profile and are subject to nationalization. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel, commenting on the announcement of the mayor of Moscow on the redemption of the plant of the Renault automaker. He noted that the production of domestic products will be quickly established at these production sites.

If the governors follow the example of the mayor of Moscow and begin to take decisive measures in relation to the property of foreign magnates who have fled Russia, Roskosmos is ready to take enterprises close in profile to our management and quickly launch the production of high-quality domestic civilian products, Rogozin wrote.

This morning, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that the city intends to take over the Renault plant and resume the production of passenger cars under the historic Moskvich brand. As stated in the mayor's blog, it is planned to retain most of the plant's staff, and KamAZ will become its main technological partner. Work is also underway to localize the production in Russia of the maximum number of automotive components.

In addition, the Moscow government and representatives of the federal government announced the acquisition of the Russian assets of the Renault Group. The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the signing of relevant agreements providing for the transfer of Renault Russia shares to the city of Moscow and AvtoVAZ shares to the state represented by FSUE NAMI. This will ensure the preservation of AvtoVAZ's manageability and the possibility of continuing the operation of the enterprise in the face of sanctions.
