OREANDA-NEWS The Russian-made cabin installed on the SJ-100 aircraft, an import-substituted version of the SSJ-100, is better than what was supplied by foreign manufacturers. Anton Alikhanov, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, told RIA Novosti about this in a comment.
He pointed out that the panels, seats of passengers, flight attendants, as well as interior equipment, including air conditioning and lighting systems, turned out to be of better quality.
The first salon was recently installed in one of the cars that is participating in certification tests at Zhukovsky. The minister did not specify the parameters of the comparison.
Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade claimed that fully import-substituted aircraft were involved in the tests. In particular, in January, the agency showed an aircraft fully assembled using serial technology with a ready-made cabin, which, as follows from Alikhanov's current words, was still of foreign manufacture.
In January, the United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec) assumed that the PD-8 certification work would be completed by the end of summer. Some experts express doubts that the developer will be able to meet such a short deadline by world standards.
Earlier, in November last year, the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Dmitry Yadrov claimed that the first new certified Russian aircraft would be the IL-114-300. According to him, the tests were supposed to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. In March, he talked about postponing the issuance of the certificate to May or June.
