OREANDA-NEWS  The Serbian leadership has long been subjected to unprecedented pressure, but is trying not to join the anti-Russian sanctions imposed by European countries, said Vladimir Dzhabarov, first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs. He shared the comment with Lenta.ru".

Serbian government Minister Nenad Popovic said earlier that the republic would never impose sanctions against Russia, despite enormous pressure. According to the minister, Serbia is receiving real political threats. However, he stressed, Belgrade is resilient and knows who its friends are.

"The leadership of Serbia, in particular President [Alexander], has been subjected to unprecedented pressure for more than one year. Vucic. We must pay tribute to the Serbs, they are trying to the last not to join the European countries that imposed and are imposing sanctions against us," Jabarov said.

The senator expressed the hope that in the near future the countries that are most aggressively imposing sanctions against Russia will want to return relations with Moscow, which Belgrade has today. He also stressed that the sanctions policy does more harm to its initiators than to Russia.

"I hope that the moment will come in the near future when the countries that are most aggressively imposing sanctions against us will still dream of the relations that Serbia and Russia have. The point is that sooner or later they will realize that it is impossible to isolate Russia, and the sanctions policy does no less harm to the countries themselves that impose sanctions," Jabarov said.

Russia is ready to support Serbia in overcoming difficulties, the senator added, expressing the hope that Belgrade will have the courage and endurance.

"Let's hope that the Serbs have enough endurance and courage, and we, for our part, are probably ready to always help them overcome difficulties," Jabarov stressed.

Earlier it was reported that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is going to leave his post in the coming weeks. He stated this before the action "Serbia, one family", organized in support of the ruling party and the policies of the Serbian leader.
