OREANDA-NEWS  Ukraine confirms that it is a terrorist state by attacking defenseless vessels that have nothing to do with military targets, said Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma's defense Committee. This is how he reacted in a conversation with Lenta on the attack on a Russian tanker in the Black Sea.

Earlier, a ship carrying vegetable oil en route to Georgia was attacked about 80 miles (148 kilometers) away from the coast of Turkey.

"First of all, they are trying to disrupt the negotiations, provoke us to take any action, suddenly we will strike at the civilians, although this is unthinkable. Secondly, in this way they prove their worth to the West," the deputy believes.

He noted that a civilian ship carrying peaceful cargo was attacked.

"Before that, they hit houses, beaches, ours in Novorossiysk, Sochi, Sevastopol. A terrorist state behaves like a terrorist, hitting defenseless ships that have nothing to do with military objectives. They will get in the teeth, as always, very hard in the near future. Apparently, their lives don't teach them anything. Each time the blows will be more powerful, we will increase them," Kolesnik shared.

Last week, two Gambian-flagged oil tankers Kairos and Virat en route to Russia were attacked off the coast of Turkey. The latter was attacked twice. The Security Service of Ukraine and the country's naval forces claimed responsibility for the strikes.
