OREANDA-NEWS  Russia delivered a record $41.6 billion worth of goods to India in the incomplete fiscal year 2022-2023, which allowed it to remain the country's fifth largest trading partner, according to an analysis by RIA Novosti of data from the Ministry of Trade and Industry of India.


According to the results of the eleven months of the fiscal year, which began in April 2022 and ended in March 2023, India imported products from Russia for the highest ever 41.6 billion dollars. This is 4.2 times more than the previous record recorded at the end of the entire last financial year. Such an increase in Russian exports allowed the country to retain the fifth place among India's largest trading partners with a turnover of 44.4 billion dollars. At the same time, the supply of Indian goods to Russia amounted to only 2.8 billion dollars. This led to a record trade deficit of India with Russia - 38.75 billion dollars. India has a larger deficit only with China - $ 77.1 billion.


The largest trading partners of India in the 2022-2023 fiscal year were also the United States with a trade turnover of $ 118.2 billion, China ($104.3 billion), the UAE ($77.6 billion) and Saudi Arabia ($48.3 billion).
