OREANDA-NEWS The quality of forecasting the dynamics in the domestic Russian market of petroleum products should improve so that the authorities have the opportunity to proactively respond to changes in supply and demand. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak at a meeting on the fuel situation, according to the government's website.

He demanded to determine in advance the volumes of imports that are necessary to cover the deficit, and to continue developing and modernizing a system for monitoring the situation on the fuel market.

Separately, the official instructed the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) and the Ministry of Energy to work out agreements between them and small oil refineries (refineries) and independent gas stations to regulate pricing, as well as strengthen control over compliance with the requirements for labeling fuels of environmental classes K2, K3 and K4 at its retail sale.

In addition to employees of these departments, representatives of the Federation Council, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Regional Development, industry companies and heads of regions participated in the meeting.

It was noted that some refineries have postponed scheduled repairs, which will allow additional volumes of fuel to be sent to the market. In turn, the FAS reported on the initiation of 51 antimonopoly cases on the fact of overestimation of prices at gas stations and the issuance of 81 warnings.
