OREANDA-NEWS Russian Post has denied news of mass layoffs at the company. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the postal operator.
According to the Telegram channel Mash, since the beginning of the year, about five thousand postmen, operators and department heads have left the Russian Post. Due to the lack of staff, some branches have even closed. Over the past year, the state—owned company has lost about 40 thousand people - on average, 3.3 thousand workers were laid off per month. The reason was low salaries and increased workload.
However, the press service of the Russian Post said that reports of mass layoffs do not correspond to reality. Employee rotation is below the monthly average, the company's representatives added.
According to Federation Council speaker Valentina Matvienko, the situation in the Russian Post cannot be let go, otherwise everyone will run away from it. Prior to that, Mikhail Volkov, the company's CEO, said that the government was considering options for its recapitalization, which would reduce debts — more than 20 billion rubles a year are spent on servicing them.
