"Continuing the liberation of the occupied territories of the Donetsk People's Republic, military personnel of the special forces unit of the Southern Group of Forces captured a large stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of one of the settlements in the Alexandro-Kalinovsky area of the special military operation. During the combat operation, the assault units destroyed a US—made M113 armored personnel carrier and a tank, and also captured the tank's crew and at least 10 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the summary says.
The Ministry of Defense also cites a statement by the commander of the reconnaissance group with the call sign Varyag, who revealed the details of the operation.
"We came in initially, we already knew about their area of work due to drone reconnaissance. We went to a certain point, explored the object further, looked at the approach routes, escape routes, and observed. Evening and night. And already, it turns out, they moved out on the second day. This tactic has probably been used for a year, if not more. First, a certain IED is thrown, after that an assault subgroup enters and a battle ensues, or the enemy surrenders," the fighter said.
