OREANDA-NEWS  A Russian delegation headed by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu will visit the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to take part in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Korean people in the 1950-1953 war. According to the Russian Defense Ministry on July 25, the visit will take place from July 25 to July 27 at the invitation of the North Korean military department.

The ministry added that the visit of the Russian side will contribute to strengthening military ties and will become an important stage in the development of cooperation between the two countries.

Earlier, on June 2, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Anna Evstigneeva said at a meeting of the UN Security Council that Russia calls on the United States to take concrete steps to resume dialogue with the DPRK. The Deputy Permanent Representative expressed uncertainty that Washington is "really ready for constructive discussions" with Pyongyang, as evidenced by the history of American diplomacy in the Korean direction in recent decades and the practical actions of the United States.
